Kat Von D Lock-it Foundation Review

Hello pretty people, man has it been a long time! I got a little redundant in my other blogs so I felt like I was getting bored. But I got the itch (the good kind ;)) to right a review on this foundation since I  started using it and I fell IN LOVE with it.

So let's dive right in.
So this is what the packaging looks like! And I LOVE IT! It has a pump which is always a plus but it also has the thing in it that pushes the foundation up from the bottom making sure you get every last drop! So that is an A++ in my book.
It is a high end foundation so it's going to set you back $34 so cheaper then most high end foundations but still pricier then the drugstore. You can find the Kat Von D makeup at makeup Heaven know as Sephora.
It's EXTREMELY full coverage. And when I say full coverage I mean FULLLL coverage baby. It is also very very matte so it's FABULOUS for oily skin. I however have skin dryer then the Sahara desert. With that being said as long as you moisturizer you'll be A-OK.

Here's a wonderfully poor quality IPhone selfie of what the coverage looks like on my skin. Lol. It gives you such a soft silky canvas to work on. If you have dry skin you wouldn't necessarily need to set this foundation however if you are oily I always recommend setting your foundation so your face doesn't turn into a slip in slide by the end of the day!

Well there you have it, my review on this AMAZING foundation. I highly recommend it! Follow me on Instagram: @beautybybrittanyT for more photos of me using this foundation. And Remember to always look on the positive side of things. You can wake up every morning and reinvent yourself and make your self esteem sky rocket.  :) that's what hair and makeup is all about. And there is absolutely nothing superficial about that! Until next time stay pretty!

Fall hair trends! Men & Women!

Hello pretty people! So fall is here! YIPPEE! Fall is my absolute favorite (I think I've mentioned that once or twice) ;) but seriously. The leaves are changing. Fashion is at its optimum point, all the cute boots and jackets! And no BLISTERING heat. It's just amazing! So with that being said I wanted to share some of this years AMAZING hair trends. I have previous posts that have have makeup trends but this is about hair for men and women.

So I'll start with one MAJOR color trend. And it's the burgundy hair

I mean come on right now with how gorgeous this is! However it is a tricky color to wear. You really need to have an olive or nuetral skin tone for this. Maybe with some slight color In your skin. Let's be real if your super pale or have that porcelain skin it's super duper hard to pull off. Which I know stinks because it's so pretty!

On to some cuts! One major trend I'm seeing is girls getting rid of the obnoxiously long extensions. (I was one of those girls so I can say that) but let's be honest the 10 lbs of hair was heavy and have me a head ache. The things we do to be trendy. Smh. Here's a couple awesome women's cuts that have me drooling! (Figuratively)

Long angled bobs are where it's at! I'm LOVING this hair cut. And it looks good on SOOOOOOO many people!!!

Another look that's in is a beeeeaaaautiful asymmetrical bob! This is for a girl that's willing to go a little more out on the limb but I LOVE it.

Now let's talk about boys.... Haha well their hair at least! This is the first time in a long time that there has been a decent mens trend. And I'm OBSESSED with it. Now if I could just talk my boyfriend out of just buzzing his whole head with a 2 guard. Goodness, boys...... Anywho the hard part is where it's at! So I thank you David (mmmm man candy) Beckham for showing the world what mens hair SHOULD look like

The tapered hard part is just so sophisticated. Ahh I'm in love. These are just a few things I'm seeing a ton of this season. I hope this makes your next salon a bit easier!

Thanks pretty people! Love you, muah!

My skin care routine!

Hey pretty people! I should start out by saying that I have been INCREDIBLY blessed to naturally have pretty good skin. I have some slight redness on my cheeks but if that's the worst that I have then I'm doing well!

This was from this morning with no makeup or anything.

Normally I use a make up remover wipe to begin with. I normally purchase whichever off brand I can find because I'm all about saving money. I just make sure they are MAKEUP REMOVER ones and NOT baby wipes. There is a difference and baby wipes will make your eye lashes fall out or thin eventually.

Then in the when I take a shower and wash my hair I use an exfoliating black head remover.

It's fairly inexpensive. About $6 and you can get it at any drugstore. But what's important is that I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week. So I only exfoliate on those days. I find I break out more when I exfoliate to often.

But what I do use everyday is the Nuetregena fresh foaming cleanser that also is a makeup remover so it just gets my face super clean and makes it feel sooooooo soft

It only cost me like $5. But like I said I have normal to dry skin and don't have much acne ever. I really haven't ever had it either. So this is what works for me. Just always try to remember to remove any makeup before going to bed. And try to give your face a couple days a week with less makeup or no make to let it breath.

Thanks for reading.

Fall Lippies in my collection!!!

Hey pretty people! So i think I've mentioned once or twice that fall makeup season is my ABSOLUTE favorite of all time in the history of ever! The leaves are changing, scarfs everyday are socially exceptable, and leggings are a closet staple AND great lipsticks are. A. Must. So here are some of my fave fall Lippies that I already have in my collection

A great raspberry lipstick is a great way to stay pink if your not quite sold on red just yet. I got this fave of mine at Walmart I believe for like $8 it's Rimmel and works really for any season! I'm actually almost out and I WILL be purchasing another! It's not glossy but it's not matte either. It's just a BEAUTIFUL color all around. And I find looks great on just about everyone.

Here's a high end Lippie. Now this wears a bit darker then this swatch on me but is BEAUTIFUL it's Dior so it's going to set you back about $30 but it has AMAZING pigment and has just a moisturizing glossy finish!

These 2 are currently are my daily favorites. The NYX one is on top and is a beautiful mauve that's is going to match just about any eyeshadow color and outfit color. That's why it's an awesome daily wear. The bottom one is Youngblood smolder and is my UNDENIABLE favorite lipstick right now. It's a mauve with just enough red and pink to compliment my skin tone perfectly and achieve that kylie jenner look. I got it from my local state beauty supply for 10$ the Nyx you can get from ULTA for $6.

Who doesn't love a great nude? This Loreal priveƩ collection nude is amazing! It's a super soft pink that has the most insane buttery texture. You'll have the most kissable lips ever! And you'll look so good they won't even care you got lipstick all over them. Unless you'rey boyfriend Mitch and you absolutely hate it. Hahah love YA babe! ;) you can get this for $9 at any drugstore

Okay let's talk about r-r-r-red. It's hot. It's sexy. And let's be real it can get a little bit messy. But the right red can change a girls life. Red is powerful and sophisticated but the wrong red can make you look like a 2 cent hooker. For the fall I like deeper blue based and brick reds opposed to more orangy Reds that I find more appropriate in the summer. The top one is a loreal red that runs about $9 at the drugstore but I've had it forever bc it's one of my favorite reds ever! Now the bottom one is a sephora lip stain that is SUPER pigmented and a beautiful matte I always get SOOOOOO many compliments on it. You can get it at sephora for $12

Lastly I wanted to do a swatch with them all together so you can see that they are actually all different I know sometimes that can look like I'm buying the same lipsticks over and over again but I promise I'm not! I only do that with eyeshadows hahaha. Anyways! Love you guys like always! Enjoy this beautiful weather and stay pretty! MUAH

Product review!!!

Hey pretty people! So I wanted to do a mid week blog on some products I've been using and loving!

Let's jump right in! I'm super picky about foundations. I have way dry skin and so I find it hard to find foundations that don't transfer and don't cake up in my dry areas. Well loreal has had their true match line for a while but they just came out with their luminous true match line. And I'm LOVING it! It gives my skin a super hydrated glow and I haven't had any adverse reactions! AND it come ins Warm, neutral, and cool tones! That's AMAZING for a drugstore line!!

It comes I. This packaging with a pump. WHICH I LOVE!! You waste less product and it just looks better.
I'm Sand beige W5. Now I think I'm usually a more neutral tone however I found that the neutral colors were a bit light for me! I got this foundation at Ulta for about $11. So a STEAL! I HIGHLY recommend this!!

Now anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE bronzer. Love is probably an understatment. I'm sure I've gone over board a time or too. And looked like the cast of jersey shore but hey more is more is more. Right? Probably not but I do love this Hoola Bronzer by Benefit cosmetics.

The packaging is sooooo stinkin cute!! It comes in this precious little box! Now benefit cosmetics is a high end line. And I do try to stay more with affordable especially when talking to other people about makeup because just to be real most sane people don't spend what I spend on make up. I mean I could probably have a second car. Haha. Anyways. This will run you about $28 at ulta. I think this is totally worth the money. With good high end products you tend to have to use less product to achieve the look so it's a give and take. I also love the brush it comes with. I haven't purchased an Ida brush yet so I've been using this to get a nice sculpted look! And the color is AMAZEBALLS for fall. It's super neutral so it look fab on just about anyone. And we tend to be less tan in the summer so it's just perfect and SUPER blend able.

And lastly is my Milani gel eyeshadows. Now I will be the first to say as a gel eyeshadow I don't think their the best. HOWEVER I do LOVE the colors and I think that's all that matters.

These are the colors I have as of now. Cappuccino (matte) which is a great drugstore transition color. Emerald (shimmer) which is a BEAUTIFUL green for fall! Bronze (shimmer) which is a fave on any eye color and champagne (shimmer)  which Is a beautiful soft pink shimmer color. I have only found these ins Select CVS. And they are only $5 an eyeshadow! I LOVE them!

Well pretty people that's all I've got for now! Have a great week! Do something nice for a stranger!

Fall beauty tips, tricks & trends

Hey pretty people! I know it's been way to long but talk about life getting busy! With that being said FALL IS UPON US. Well mostly. Your never truly know in oklahoma. tomorrow morning is suppose to be 49 degrees and then 70 is the high. What in the world?! Anyways enough about the weather! Fall is my FAVORITE makeup season HANDS DOWN. I think it's because I love the colors and the warmth and drama you can get away with. So here are some of the trends that pretty much never go out of style in fall and what some of the Fall 2014 styles are! Also you can see I have longer hair. I love my Extentions in the colder weather and it's dark dark! Love it!

Smokey eyes!

Smokey eyes are pretty much always in style. Though I find that during the summer and spring it's a bit much for a day time look. However in the fall I think this dusty rose smokey eye is perfect with a nude lip and an awesome scarf! During the day I wouldn't do a bold lip with this it's going to be a bit harsh unless that's the look your going for!

Deep plum or red
Can we talk about how obsessed I am with this look for a second. I mean COME ON! If you are going to do a bold lip this is the way To go. This deep deep lip is SUPER stylish for fall. It's classy yet edgy! Unfortunatly I don't have a suggestion on a color specific for this look because I haven't found one for myself. However I do have the Dior londres and I find it's a bit lighter so more girls would be more appt to go for. When I find one I'll be sure to post it!

Benefit cosmetics hoola bronzer!

I'm LOVING this bronzer for fall and winter. It's not to warm and it's not to cool and looks fabulous on fairer skin. Now I'm dark completed naturally. But obviously were all a bit lighter in the fall and winter. The sun kissed look just doesn't quite fit when there is snow on the ground. You can purchase this from ulta for $28. Yes a bit more pricy but I say just go ahead and spend the money.

Go for color this fall!

This is YouTube famous makeup artist Jaclyn Hill she is AMAZING!! So funny! And I was just obsessed with this look. This is going to be great for a night out in fall! It's also going to be for that more risk taking girl. The green is real life for fall. I'm just OBSESSED. Check her out on YouTube!

Also the Kylie jenner look is SO IN for anytime of the year! This is Jaclyn hills new lipstick creation by Gerard cosmetics called 1995! Ahh it's beautiful but a bit pricy.

This is me and the color I wear to mimic this look it's my NYX cosmetics for $6 it's the Matte: whipped caviar.

And here are some basic tips for fall.

Go one or the other for day time. Bold lip and neutral eye or neutral lip and bold eye.

Reds and plums are so in!

Stay more matte with foundation and powders.

Moisturize your face! The cold dries it out!

Hair in buns and scarfs are always exceptable.

Go cozy and warm if you want too! We wait all Summer for it! And yes uggs are ugly but oh so comfy!

And remember to always be positive and encouraging. The holiday season is right around the corner so slow down and enjoy the crisp air and changing leaves! Stay pretty

Xoxo

MINI ULTA HAUL!!!!! 8/31/2014

Hey pretty people so today I went to one of my favorite places EVER!!!! Ulta!!!! Now I love ulta because they have high end and drug store products! So I'll go over what I got and what I spent! But basically I got a ton of NYX stuff again because they were sold out of benefit cosmetics hoola bronzer that I wanted to try.  And they didn't carry they Anastasia contour kit I wanted to purchase. So that's to be continued.

Overview:
Real techniques stippling brush
Nyx falsies
NyxHD powder
NYX butter gloss
NYX blotting Powder
NYX blush
And NYX HD concealer

Real techniques stippling brush

I decided to try this out. I was in need of a new one and I was really pleased with the last RT brush I purchased. This brush cost 9.99 before tax! I hope to purchase more of their brushes in the future

Nyx blotting and setting powder

I got this in the shade BLP02 light-medium I plan on using this to set my under eyes. We'll see. I'm not sure about the color but I'm hopeful! Cost: $11.99

Nyx falsies

Falsies are a girls best friend they make your photos look better your eyes look bigger and long luscious lashes are always in style. I've never used NYX lashes before but these look similar to the Kiss KP001 lashes that I've recently been obsessed with. Cost: 3.49

Nyx butter gloss

I've heard nothing but incredible things about this gloss. This is in shade- peaches and cream. I have other NYX lip sticks but this is a gloss I tried it on and it feels amazing on your lips. Super hydrating and it is highly pigmented so you actually get a color! I'll post some selfies with it on! Cost: $4.99

Nyx HD finishing powder

A finishing powder is going to be great for setting everything on your face. It doesn't have a color all it does is keep everything I place and allow you make up to really look flawless. Cost: $9.99

Nyx HD concealer

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this concealer. It's wear and coverage is incredible. The only issue I've had is how quickly I go through it. YIKES but it only cost $4.99 so I'm not complaining!!! So I just had to buy more

Last but not least NYX blush

this is in the color desert rose. I have one in apricot and I LOVE it. I wanted to get something more rosy and deep for the fall! Which I cannot wait for! Fall makeup is my favorite! Cost: $5.99

That brought my total to $54.83 BUT WAIT! I'm totally a bargain shopper and starting today for a week ulta has 20% off your entire purchase meaning I spent $44.54 for 7 products! That's AMAZEBALLS! Well thanks for reading pretty people! And I hope everyone is having an awesome holiday weekend! Muah!
